Francis A. Fritz, age 87, of Kankakee, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born September 17, 1934 in Union Hill, the son of George & Emma Hebekeuser Fritz. Francis married Antoinette “Ann” Panozzo on October 9, 1954 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Kankakee. He had been a contractor/builder. Francis loved gardening and taking care of his yard. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and bags. He was a great high school football player and he loved watching football. He was a huge sports fan. Francis was a member of the Moose Lodge as well as a member of the Quadrille Dance Club. Francis was a parishioner of St. Rose Chapel and St. Patrick Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Antoinette Fritz of Kankakee; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen & Janice Fritz of Kankakee; one sister, Cathy Lovell of Cincinnati, OH; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edwin Fritz of Kankakee, James & Ann Fritz of Kankakee, and Elsie Fritz of Union Hill; one grandchild, Austin Fritz; and many nieces and nephews. Francis is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Fritz; one sister & two brothers-in-law, Mardell & Bob Spears and Leonard Lovel ; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Fritz. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee. Rev. John Peeters will celebrate the Mass. Private interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
