April 17 1928 November 20 2022
Evelyn Hall Hicks, 94, of Apopka, passed away peacefully in her home on November 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 17, 1928, in Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of the late Edith (Anderson) and Loyd Hall. Evelyn had an immense passion for helping people, so naturally she found her niche in the residential real estate industry in the Leesburg area after retiring with her loving husband in the early 1980s. She was extremely active with the Leesburg Board of Realtors (now the Realtors Association of Lake & Sumter Counties) and many women’s organizations throughout the Central Florida area. Evelyn truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, bird watching, and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn had an incredible ability to reach people in a profound and devoted way. Her compassion, insightful life advice, and loving nature will be truly missed by her family and loved ones. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Hicks of Jacksonville, Florida, and Tyler (Erin) Hicks of Apopka, Florida, two great grandchildren: Dante and Michael, and brother Ron Hall. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Loyd Hall, her husband J. Robert Hicks, her sisters Marilyn Allen and Bonnie Dunavant, her son Terry Hicks, daughter Sherry Stoddard, and granddaughter Courtney Stoddard. The celebration of life will be held Saturday December 3, at 10:30 AM at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to her cherished friend’s scholarship, The Buffalo Scholarship Foundation – Eldene L. Hearns Scholarship (251 Buffalo Trail, The Villages, FL, 32162, 352- 259-2350).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Evelyn Hall Hicks April 17 1928 November 20 2022.
