Eugene “Speckled Bird” Barlow, 76, of Glade Spring, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was a life long resident of Washington County, VA born on May 5, 1946, a son of the late Emory Barlow and Nettie Mae Ruth Thomas Barlow. He loved spending time with his wife and drove a truck for 50 years. He also loved his time spent with his children but especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Barlow; one daughter, Ruth Cornett; two sons, Michael Barlow and his wife, Tammy, and Steve Barlow and his wife, Jennifer; two sisters, Edna Thomas and Margie Thomas; one brother, Ernie Barlow; six grandchildren, Christopher Cornett, Cory Cornett and his wife, Tiffany, Dakota Barlow, Danielle Atwood and her husband, Rylan, Austin Barlow, and Jakob Barlow; one great granddaughter, Graylynn Paige; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, October 24, 2022, at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, VA, with Pastor James Walls officiating. Friends may call at any other time at the residence of his son, Michael Barlow, 17942 Barlow Lane, Glade Spring, VA. Pallbearers will be Michael Barlow, Steve Barlow, Christopher Cornett, Cory Cornett, Austin Barlow, and Dakota Barlow. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jakob Barlow and Rylan Atwood.
