Stapleton loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother entered into eternal rest at the age of 87 on November 17, 2022. A resident of Indianapolis he was born on Thursday, May 2, 1935 in St. Charles, Virginia to Ken and Ada (Green) Stapleton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Beech Grove. Pete leaves behind to treasure his memory, his daughter, Bobbie J. (Rick) Schilling-Bailey; three grandchildren, Heather, Austin and Keaton; numerous great grandchildren and two sisters, Goldie Green and Virgie Ball. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Stapleton; three brothers, Walter, Paul and Clyde, and six sisters, Ruby, Nell, Ardith, Ana Lou, Mossie, and Lela. Per Pete’s wishes there will be no services and he will be laid to rest in Virginia. Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions in Pete’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
