Eddie Gerdes entered into rest in the early hours of Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 87 Years, 3 Months, and 19 Days. He was born July 23, 1935 in Macon Missouri a son of the late William and Irene (White) Gerdes. Eddie is the father of 6 children and is survived by his daughter Sherry Johnson, and a son William and wife Jeanie Gerdes. Also surviving are a brother and sister in-law Larry and Ronda Brammer, and his dear companion of 15 years Darcy Avila. He was a grandpa to 5 grandchildren’s Ed Hirschel, William Gerdes II, Mark Gerdes, Michael Mason, and Tony Mason; 9 Great grandchildren’s , 7 Great Great Grandchildren’s and a host of niece, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 children, Linda Hirschel, and Michael Gerdes; 2 brothers, Donald Eugene Gerdes, and Marion Franklin Brammer; and 5 sisters, Nancy, Dixie June, Martha Fay, Charlotte (Deborah) and Linda. He was also preceded into death by his special step-mother Maude Gerdes and his son in-law Mike Johnson. Eddie worked as sheriff deputy of Iron County, Missouri and the city of Ironton, Missouri as a police officer. He was also a Master Craftsman for over 60 years and operated his own handyman business for many years. His specialty was wood working, woodcarving, building houses and furniture Eddie was of Baptist faith and had a special relationship with God. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
