Doris M Wolter, age 84 of Pennsville, NJ, died Saturday, August 6, 2022 after a brief illness. Doris was born in 1938 and was the daughter of the late Ethel and Empie Phelps. She had been a resident of Pennsville her entire life. Doris had her career with the Dupont Company and after retirement worked many years at JCPenney. Doris loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She worked hard to support her children, often sacrificing her own needs. Doris also loved to help animals. She was known for taking in a stray dog or cat and loved all her grandkitties and grandpuppies. Doris is survived by her children, Tina Ayars of New Castle, DE, Darryl Wolter of Middletown, DE, and Rhonda (Al) Coleman of Pennsville and her grandchildren, Jason Ayars, Brandon Ayars, Rachel Coleman, Tyler Coleman, Brooke Coleman, Emily Wolter and Matthew Wolter, also her sisters, Norma McAllister and Kay Pendleton. A visitation will be held at the Ashcraft Funeral Home located at 740 South Broadway in Pennsville, NJ on Thursday, August 11 from 10am to 11am with a service at 11am. Interment will follow at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mama’s Cat Rescue, LLC 16 Meghans Way, Pennsville, NJ. 08070
