Doris J. (Grube) Vanasdale Lerew, 87 of York, PA, died at Senior Commons at Powder Mill on September 19, 2022. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Lerew and the late Robert H. Vanasdale. Born December 10, 1934 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Addie C. (Burkholder) Grube. She is survived by two sons, Mark A. Vanasdale and his wife, Regina of Greenfield Center, NY and James R. Vanasdale and his wife Jane of Malta, NY; a daughter, Lori J. Shaulis and her husband Terry of York, PA; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Anita Madsen and Donna Lerew, both of Lake Meade, PA and a special friend, Paul Stoner of York, PA. In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was also preceded in death by a step daughter, Paula Wolf; three brothers, Robert, Harold and Harry Grube and two sisters, Charlotte Miller and Margie Dubs. Doris was a long-time member of Christ Church Jacobus. She loved singing in the choir and camping with her family. Doris was known for her amazing egg custard pies, cup custards and her Christmas sand tart cookies. Following cremation, the family will have a memorial service on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Jacobus, 200 N. Main Street, Jacobus, PA with Pastor Jennifer Zack officiating. There will be no visitation. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church Jacobus, 200 N.
