Obituary Donald Paul McCready of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022. Don was born September 11, 1953 at West Point, NY, the youngest of five children. His father was career Army so Don’s early years saw him living the life of an Army “Brat”, moving to several states and countries. After graduating from high school, Don joined the Army and served in Germany. He found woodworking, making custom cabinets and furniture, to be his life’s work. He had just recently retired, due to poor health. He lived in Millsboro for the last 25 years and enjoyed spending time fishing and crabbing. Don’s love of music brought him to the American Legion, volunteering with the program, Frets for Vets, teaching veterans how to play the guitar. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Caroline, as well as his brothers, Jim and Steve. He is survived by his son, Josh McCready of Burley, ID, his daughter, Martha Alice McCready, his sisters Irene Denhardt and Patricia McCready, and his significant other, Barbara Gomez. At this time, plans for a future Memorial Service are being completed.
