Dolan Wayne Carpenter, age 76, of Denning, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, December 4, 2022, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born April 12, 1946 in Ozark, Arkansas to Dolan and Ruby Jean Williams Carpenter. Wayne was a Vietnam Veteran, was extremely Patriotic, a Master Brick Masonry; retired from Arkansas Western Gas after 27 years, was a member of Ozark First Baptist Church, the American Legion, and the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Edna Fisher; and one brother, Ted Lee Carpenter. Wayne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Joyce Mayner Carpenter; one daughter, Jennifer Hope Carpenter Wilson and husband Tony of Alma, Arkansas; one son, Gordon Wayne Carpenter and wife Francine of Gainsville, Florida; granddaughter he raised, Ceira Nikole Carpenter Whitted and husband Tanner of Russellville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Bryan Anthony Wilson and wife Kelsey of Alma, Brandon Wayne Wilson and wife Shea of Russellville, Gordon Wayne Alan Carpenter Jr. Of Gainsville, and Danika Marie Neven of Leesburg, Virginia; four great grandchildren, Ragean, Skylar, Teagan, and Lukas; and a host of cousins and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 9, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark, with Brother Ted Darling and Brother Ben Lairamore, with burial at Belt Cemetery Low Gap Road in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bryan Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Tanner Whitted, Jessie Mahan, Johnny Brison, and Tommy McCormick.
