DeWitt Elson Frasier, 91, a native of New York state and a resident of Houma, LA passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. DeWitt was born on June 1, 1931 in Sydney, N.Y. to the late Hobert and Olive Frasier. Memorial Services will be on Saturday January 7th, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Houma on Hwy 311. Public visitation will start at 10:00am and the service will begin at 11:00am. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Joan Morey Frasier; step-children, Donna Steel (Bill), Debra Morris (Steve), David Erickson (Lynda), and Kevin Erickson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert Frasier (born in Northville, N.Y.) and Olive Rice Frasier (born in Norwich, N.Y.); and sisters, Coralee Barner and Patricia Borini. DeWitt was a man of many talents and many accomplishments. After graduating from Northville High School in New York State in 1948, DeWitt enlisted in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. He was employed in advertising as a print production manager for General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY where he enjoyed working for over 27 years. In 1980, DeWitt moved to Orange County California to continue his print production career. He finished his career at Toyota Headquarters in Torrance, CA in 1997. Although DeWitt was a hard working man, he was also a man of many interests and hobbies. He was an active member of the Masons since 1962. He was a member of St. George’s Lodge #6 F. & A.M. of Schenectady, NY where he achieved a 32° in 1975. While in California, DeWitt was a member of El Bekal Temple in Anaheim during the 1980s And was a past president of the Gold Coast Shrine Club. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Haydel Memorial Hospice for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given at any charity of choice.
