Damon Lee Lester, age 56, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his home. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of Peggy Proffitt Mercer of Cedar Bluff, Virginia and the late Hershal James “Turk” Hurt. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former roofer. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Griffith; and brothers, Jerry Hurt and James Hurt. Survivors are: Daughters: Angel Stilwell and husband, Rick Wilson of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Brooke Lester of Raven, Virginia Son: Cody Lester and wife, Tiffany of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Fiancée, Kim Hardy Sisters: Frances Rose and husband, Terry of Red Ash, Virginia Lisa Cordle and husband, Tom of Pounding Mill, Virginia Mary Hutchinson and husband, Chuck of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Brothers: Ronnie Hurt and Tina Muir of Raven, Virginia Joe Hurt and wife, Crystal of Raven, Virginia David Lester and wife, Janice of Raven, Virginia James “Turkey” Lester of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Three Grandchildren: Kenneth Stilwell, Aiden Lester, and Rohan Lester Several family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Damon Lester will be conducted Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Wayne Proffitt officiating. Interment will follow at Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call after 6pm on Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
