Cecil “Floyd” LaCaze, age 88, died peacefully in his home in Pineville, Louisiana, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, surrounded by his three children. He was born and raised in Cloutierville, Louisiana. He was the second child born to William Sullivan and Azzie Catherine LaCaze. He graduated from Cloutierville High School. He voluntarily served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married his loving wife Dorothy Alice Carnahan in 1957. He later decided to pursue a trade and attended barber school in Little Rock, Arkansas. Floyd spent the past 60+ years as owner/operator of LaCaze Barber Shop in Tioga, Louisiana. Cecil “Floyd” will be remembered by those that knew him as one of the most generous, gentle, kind, and sweet-spirited men you could ever know. He loved going to festivals and dances to see friends and dance the night away. Floyd was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Tioga, Louisiana and was inducted into the Knights of Columbus. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading the bible, Christian books and praying. His children and grandchildren brought him much joy. He cherished celebrating their achievements and milestone events. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Martha LaCaze Bardwell, Steve LaCaze (Kathryn) and Ginger LaCaze Humbles (David); grandchildren, Brandy Bardwell Marcus (Sam), Ryan Bardwell (Tiffany), Stephen Lance LaCaze (Krislyn), Jenna LaCaze Johnson (Justin), Raina LaCaze Gossett (Reagan), Alivia LaCaze, Dane & Rylie Humbles; great grandchildren (Grayson, Harper & Scarlett Marcus) (Gabe, Kayden & James Lee Bardwell) (Teddy Van Johnson); sister, Helen Jarrell Lazarus; along with many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Those gone to rest include his spouse, Dorothy Carnahan LaCaze; parents, Azzie Catherine and William Sullivan LaCaze; siblings, Amos LaCaze, W. S. LaCaze, and son-in-law, Lee Bardwell. Services for Cecil “Floyd” LaCaze will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Rickey Gremillion officiating. Interment will follow in Emmanuel Cemetery, Chopin, Louisiana, under the direction of the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 21, 2022, and resume from 8:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, January 21, 2022, in the Kramer Chapel. Pallbearers will be Ryan Bardwell, Lance LaCaze, Dane Humbles, Keith LaCaze, Randy Jarrell, and Ronnie Jarrell. Honorary pallbearers are Mark LaCaze, Jace LaCaze, and Keevin Jarrell. The family is grateful for many caregivers including Gracie Youngblood, Dawn Chandler, Mike Hedrick, the staff at Home Instead and St. Joseph’s Hospice.
