Obituary of Carol A. Youmans Rensselaer- Carol A. Youmans, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Born in Albany on February 27, 1950, she is the daughter of the late Joan Grock and step-daughter of Robert P. Grock of Malta. Carol was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1968. She then worked for Verizon for over 40 years. Carol was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1520 Zaloga, the Polish American Club in Albany, the Elks Club, and volunteered for several years at the Stratton VA Hospital. Carol loved being with friends and family, singing karaoke, dancing, going on vacations and cruises, and shopping. She also loved her dogs dearly. Wife of the late Edward Goad and Roy Youmans. Carol is survived by her brother Robert (Viola) Grock from Rensselaer; nieces Alisha Grock, Dannyell James, Claudette Scheu-Mink, and Christina Scheu; nephews Andrew Grock and Frank Scheu; best friend and cousin Malia Buff; cousin Timothy (Deb) Boel; and several great nieces and great nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Carol on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 9:30AM at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph’s Church, 53 Herrick Street Rensselaer. Friends and family are invited to call the night before from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue. The American Legion Auxiliary Post will be conducting a service during calling hours at 6:00PM. Interment will follow the mass in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
