View Tribute Book Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Gwendolyn McDaniel, age 81 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Judd Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. Her family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5pm until 8pm and again Thursday 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. McDaniel died Tuesday November 29, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1941 in Cookeville to the late Thomas Wesley and Lydia Bethel Scarlett Montgomery. She was a longtime member of Whitson Chapel Church of Christ where she served as the church treasurer for many years. She was also the caretaker for Judd Cemetery for many years. Carol enjoyed sewing, and volleyball having participated in the Senior Olympics, the Putnam County Fair, and cooking for her family on Monday nights. She was a great person, family oriented, and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Anabel Montgomery, Judy Montgomery and James Montgomery. Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her husband of 64 years, JC McDaniel; daughter, Cindy Dyer and husband Ron; son, Chris McDaniel and his fiance, Mary Bowen; grandchildren, Ryan (Allison) McDaniel, Kaye Dyer, Christy Dyer-Gultom (Edward), Misty (Austin) Albright and Ashley (Wes) Richards; great grandchildren, Bronson and Colton McDaniel, Alivia Parrish, Will, Molly, Maggie and Weston Albright, Elliot Gultom, Oliver Gultom and Ty Richards; and Pat Grimes, a life long friend; and by several nieces and nephews. Wes Richards, Austin Albright, Ryan McDaniel, Larry McDaniel, Caelan Broadway and Donnie Jackson will serve as pallbearers.
