Obituary Brenda Joyce (Addison) Spicer, 65, of Union City passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022, at her home. Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022. A graveside service will follow at East View Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Frank Dalton. Family members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or B+ Foundation. Brenda was born March 17, 1957 in Memphis. She was the daughter of the late John Q. and Martha Ann (Roberts) Addison. She married her high school sweet heart, Joe D. Spicer, Jr. on February 14, 1976. He survives. Brenda retired after 25 years of service from Northwest Correctional Complex where she was a Correctional Clerical Officer. She loved coaching her daughters in softball and enjoyed calling strikes at the plate as an umpire, especially on her daughters. Brenda was an avid reader polishing off 12-15 books a month. Growing up she was a member of Egypt Baptist Church in Raleigh, TN. She is also survived by her three daughters, and honorary sons and daughter. Christyna and Matthew Wilson of Troy, Jessica and Dominic Wekony of Franklin, Amanda Spicer of Kenton and Andrea Higgins of Kenton; sister, Patricia Myers of Memphis; and four grandchildren, Martha Brooke Strain and Bradley Wilson-Strain, both of Troy, and Dylan Wekony and Collins Wekony, both of Franklin. (We love our Ne!) She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Joey Bree Wilson; and three brothers, Gary Addison, Larry Addison and Terry Addison.
