Billy Ray Gibson, 79, of Hurricane, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022. Billy was retired from Greif Brothers as an assembly line worker. He loved his family. He was born January 13, 1943, in Hurricane, to the late Lillard and Reba Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Gay Gibson; and siblings, Paula Roach, Donnie Childers and Chuck Gibson. He is survived by his children, Billy Scott Gibson (Rachael) of Hurricane, Kip Gibson of Hurricane and Matt Gibson of Hurricane; brother, Dave Gibson of Scott Depot; grandchildren, Destiny Gibson, Alee Gibson, Todd Gibson, Dennis Ray Gibson, Chelsey Rae Gibson and Marlene Rae Gibson; and many other extended family and friends. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Friday, November 25, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Pastor James Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Hodges Cemetery, Hurricane. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
