Nolen, Billy Joe, of Wilsonville, passed away on November 29, 2022, at the age of 95, in Alabaster. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 1PM at Columbiana United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2PM. He will be laid to rest at Wilsonville City Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years: Marjorie Bentley Nolen; his parents: Elvis Nolen and Pearl Roper Nolen; his sisters: Helen Nolen Rayfield Pierce and Saranell Nolen. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy Thomas (Tommy) and Jenny Cooper; his son: David Nolen (Denise); his grandchildren: Amy Cooper, Emily Cooper, Andy Nolen (Skylar), and Daniel Nolen (Ashby); his great-grandchildren: Kyleigh Clewis and Cameron Majors. Mr. Nolen was born on April 11, 1927 in the Blue Springs Community of Shelby County. He grew up in the Fourmile Community of Shelby County and attended Fourmile Elementary School. He was the last surviving graduate of the Shelby County High School Class of 1945, where he was captain of the basketball team and the baseball team his senior year. He graduated in 1967 from the School of Banking of the South at LSU. He had an over 40 year career in banking beginning with the First National Bank of Columbiana. He retired in 1992 as President of Regions Bank of Albertville, Alabama. He was a member of the Columbiana United Methodist Church. Please sign online condolences at www.boltonfuneralhome.com.
