Billy Edward Stephenson, 88, of Higdon, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM ET on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor’s Jimmy Hixson and Scott Gudger officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 PM and on Monday, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Billy enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and cutting hay. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Higdon, where he served as a Deacon. He also was a member of North Sand Mountain Masonic Lodge # 920. Billy was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was born to the late Elmer and Lola Mae Stephenson on May 26, 1934. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; David Stephenson, JC Stephenson, and James Stephenson and two sisters; Louise Chapman and Reba Sue Wilson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Leavern Stephenson, son; Steve Stephenson, granddaughter; Brandi Stephenson (Dale) Hamlen and a great-granddaughter; Kaylen Hamlen.
