Obituary Mrs. Bernice Alma Painter (nee: Grannemann) of Marthasville, MO., passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at her home with her family at her side. She was born on March 28, 1943 in Holstein, MO., to the late Alfred and Erna (nee: Hackmann) Grannemann. Bernice had reached the age of 79 years. Bernice was a life long resident of Warren County. She was united in marriage to Robert Otto Painter on September 19, 1964 in Holstein. To this union one daughter was born, Linda. Bernice was also a life long member of Immanuel UCC, Holstein. She was involved in various church activities over the years, including coordinating the annual apple butter cooking, singing in the church choir, typist for the history book, member and officer for the Women’s Fellowship and Sunday School teacher and officer. She had several jobs over the years, working at Binkley and at Thierbach Orchards Market. But her favorite career was being a devoted stay at home Mom. Bernice loved to care for her family and for many others as she delivered Meals on Wheels twice a month for many years. Bernice also had a life long love of quilting. Along with quilting at home, she enjoyed quilting on Mondays with the church quilters and often participated in the Quilts of Valor events. Bernice was a loving a devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister and friend to so many. Bernice Painter was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Erna Grannemann; three brother in laws, Pete Meyer, Russell Brockfeld, Kenneth Painter. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years; daughter, Linda Earney and husband Dale; two sisters, Janis Brockfeld and Rosalie Petersmeyer and husband Derrold; sister in law, Virginia Painter; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A visitation for Mrs. Bernice Painter will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Martin Funeral Home in Marthasville, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Immanuel UCC, Holstein on Thursday, December 8, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Immanuel UCC Cemetery.
