Anthony Wayne Kirby, age 78, of Greenbrier, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Northcrest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Tuesday, November 22, 2022 and again from 11am until time of service at 1pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Kirby was born February 3, 1944 in Nashville, TN to the late Johnnie Eldridge and Mary Emma Rose Kirby. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was an airplane mechanic. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Kirby Jr.; and a sister, Linda Reed. Mr. Kirby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Dean Kirby; sons, Timothy Burns (Nancy Jenkins), and Daniel Lee Burns; daughter, Monica Leah (Jackie Dean) Drew; 3 grandchildren, Kristopher Goff, Jamie Goff and Jay Goff; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Johnnie Kirby, William Kirby, Harold Kirby and Ronnie Kirby; and sisters, Rita Rooks, Mae Lutz, Ann Lanier and Sharon Kirby.
