Obituary Anna “Anne” Morris Pritts, 89, of Westminster, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at her home. She lived a full and abundant life, trusting in God’s guidance, mercy, forgiveness and love. Born on December 21, 1932 in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Minor H. and Audrey Jones Morris. She was the cherished wife for 42 years to the late Robert Kyle Pritts, Sr. who predeceased her in 1994. Together, they established Pritts Funeral Home, creating a legacy for future generations. In 1952, she graduated from Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore. During her career, she worked in various areas of nursing including the Carroll County Health Department. A resident of Westminster since 1964, she was active in her community giving of her time and talents. Her door was always open- entertaining her friends, playing SCRABBLE or Bridge, and sharing in book club discussions and bible studies. She was a member of the Westminster United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Ann was instrumental in co-founding the church’s REACH ministry program- serving those in need of transportation, food assistance, and other compassionate care. She served passionately on the Literacy Board of Carroll County and was a charter member of the Gladys Wimert Lioness Club, and a member of the Farm Museum Board of Governors. In 1988, Anne was recognized as the “Outstanding Woman of Westminster” by the Soroptimist International, for her extensive volunteer work within the community. A passionate gardener, she loved being a member of the Roslyn Garden Club of Baltimore County. Anne loved to meet new people and became an instant friend to anyone she met. Her home was a treasury of collections including art and family photos, travels from around the world, and greeting cards received from her many friends. She is survived by children Robert Kyle Pritts, Jr. of Westminster, Rev. Andrea K. King (Matt) of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Katherine Wurmb (Steve) of Woodstock, Georgia; sister Linda Kay Burdock (David) of Oakland, Maryland; grandchildren Audrey Pritts Coder, Emily Pritts, Rachel Hone, Matthew Joseph Pritts King, Sarah King; great-grandchildren Cameron, Kylie, Keira, and Quinn; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers Minor, Dempsey, and David Morris; and sister Mardell Bischoff. The family will welcome friends on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 1 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Services will be Saturday, July 2 at 12 Noon at Westminster United Methodist Church, 165 E. Main St., Westminster with a visitation one hour prior. For those unable to attend Anne’s service it will be livestreamed on the church website www.wumcmd.org/. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
