View Tribute Book Ms. Ann Chase Deits, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Overlook in Toccoa, GA on November 14, 2022. Born December 14, 1938 in Charles Town, WV, to parents, Cecil William Chase and Hazel Goldie Baker, Ann and her family settled in Falls Church, VA early in her life. After graduating Falls Church High School, she worked for the Department of the Navy for a short time. She married her high school sweetheart, Jay Deits, in 1959; they were married for 20 years. They moved to Decatur, GA in 1964 where they lived until 1978. Ann then lived in Marietta for 44 years until recently moving to the Overlook in Toccoa. Ann’s primary profession in life was raising her 3 children. But she also worked in retail for several years. Later and for many years, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Mount Paran Christian School. A passionate and strong Christian woman, she worshipped at Mount Paran North for many years where she frequently volunteered in several ministries. She loved her Bible study, Christian fellowship, music, history, working in the yard and spending time with her children, grandchildren and her beautiful great- granddaughter. She also enjoyed traveling with her grown children over the years to West Virginia, Tennessee and South Carolina. Ann is survived by her twin sister, Annette Ambler and her husband, John of Wilton, CT.; son, Chase Deits, and his wife, Gwen, of Toccoa, GA; son, George Deits, and his wife, Jennifer, of Franklin, TN; and daughter, Elizabeth Deits, of Nashville, TN; as well as grandchildren, Samantha Austin (Brantley Austin); Ryan Deits (Kelsey Deits), Hannah Deits, Alex Deits and great-granddaughter, Charlotte (Charlie) Austin. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her brother, William (Bill) Chase. The family is forever grateful to Ann’s loving caregivers, neighbors and friends who helped Ann through her long battle with Dementia. The family extends a special heartfelt gratitude to caregivers and friends, Michelle Leebrick, Romin Alavi, Kiandra Vire, Henrietta Irabor, Susan Loudermilk, Liza Avery, Joanne Kraybill, Linda Guest and Debbie Nichols, who made it possible for Ann to live at home until very recently. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mount Paran North Church, The Walker Chapel, 1700 Allgood Road NE. Marietta, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Dementia Society of America.
