Albert Bailey Jr December 6 1939 October 18 2022

December 6 1939 October 18 2022
Albert (Bud) Bailey Jr. lived his life peacefully, and died peacefully, in his home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was born in 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. Bud proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956-1960 and was a Naval Seabee stationed in New Mexico and on the USS BLAIR, Pearl Harbor. He was also a Naval Reservist until 1993. As a civilian, he worked at General Motors Malleable Iron for 30 years and was a volunteer firefighter at the Tittabawassee Township Fire Department. He married Carol Es-Bailey in 1961. They had two children, Kimberly Bailey-Karl and Cherie Bailey-Bloom. Bud lost his first love, Carol, in 1989, and his beloved daughter, Kimberly, in 1994. Bud would say “God blessed him again” with his second wife and family when he married Gretchen Hubbard-Bailey. They shared their love for horses in retirement on their farm riding local trails and took two weeks yearly to ride from one shore of Michigan to the other with their “horse family” and granddaughters, Sophie and Stephanie. He enjoyed his time hunting and fishing over the years with his friends and family. If you knew Bud you were changed somehow and it was a privilege just to know him. He shared his faith openly, but with humility, in the way he treated others with love and respect. His beautiful voice could be heard praising God proudly from the choir or church pews. He was ready, even eager, to go Home. Bud’s pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Hubbard-Bailey; daughters, Cherie Bailey-Bloom and Trisha Hubbard-Aldrich; son, Scott Hubbard; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hubbard; sister, Kate (Ron) Rae, and son-in-law, Bob (Mary) Karl. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Jacquelyn Karl (Chad) Dixon, Mitchell Karl, Stephanie Karl-Huff, Sydney Aldrich, Baileigh Aldrich, Morgan Hubbard (Tyler Wilson), Cameron Hubbard, and Sophie Hubbard, and great-grandchildren, Slest Wilson, Quinn Wilson, Natalie Dixon and Charlotte Dixon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Es-Bailey; daughter, Kimberly Bailey-Karl; mother and father, Edna and Albert Bailey Sr.; brother, Timothy Bailey; sisters, Joann Bailey-Denome and Judy Bailey-Galbraith; brothers-in-law, Tom Galbraith and Ed Denome, and son-in-law, David Aldrich. Bud’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM until Bud’s 11:30 AM Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot. A luncheon will follow in the Wesley Room at Skorupski’s. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Bay County or Wounded Warrior Project. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.skorupskis.com. The obituary was lovingly submitted by the Bailey family.
