Melvin L. Hansinger, age 93, a resident at Shelby Crossing Health Campus in Shelby Township, Michigan passed Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1928 in Roseville, MI to the late Stephen and Katherine (Gier) Hansinger. On May 29, 1948 in the City of Mount Clemens, MI he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Peltier. Together they shared 30 years of marriage before she passed on April 5, 1979. Retiring in 1993 after 31 years at General Motors, Melvin had worked as a Fabricator cutting materials for car seats. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mt. Clemens. Spending the day fishing or boating were always welcomed opportunities with family and friends. Melvin is survived by his children; James (Jill) Hansinger, Richard (Mena) Hansinger, Mary Beth (Fred) Jasmund, and David (Trisha) Hansinger, nine grandchildren; Jim (Kelly) Hansinger, Ben Hansinger, Sarah (Darcy) Falkowski, Paul Hansinger, Adam (Amber) Hansinger, Freddie (Kary) Jasmund, Emily (Brad) Cutright, Melissa (Mike) Schwartz, and Stephen Hansinger, and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Melvin was also preceded in death by his daughter Karen Hansinger, brother Daniel and Franklin Hansinger, and sister Maryann Cataldo.
