JOSEPH J. KLUCZNIK, age 74, a US Marine Corps Veteran, passed away peacefully on December 16. Devoted husband to Carol (nee Sambuca). Loving father to Victoria Oliver (Rodney), Anthony Taurino (Tiffany), Dominic Taurino and Maria Taurino. Beloved grandfather to Emilee, Aidan, Samantha, Angela, Anthony, Isabella, Lorenzo, Julina, Maria, Gina and Sophia. Cherished great grandfather to Jocelyn, Joshua, Jonathan, Amelia, Gracie and Liliana. Dear brother to Wanda Klucznik, Helen Taurino (Michael) and the late Bernice Klucznik. Joe was a Polish immigrant who traveled from Germany to Ellis Island by ship on a 6 day journey with his family as a young boy. His parents were sponsored by a family in Philadelphia, which brought him to this area. He attended junior high and high school in Philadelphia, where he graduated from Jules E Mastbaum Vocational School. As a teenager, he worked at Richmond Bakery as a baker and was then drafted into the military. He entered the Marine Corps with the Fleet Service Regimen and did guerilla warfare training in Panama. He served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in the Carribean, primarily Puerto Rico. After his discharge from the military, he started his career at APA Transport in Philadelphia. He worked on the docks loading and unloading trucks and helping with logistics. He then taught himself to drive an 18 wheeler and pursued his lifelong career of driving a big rig. His favorite route was his daily trip to Delaware. They say to do what you love and I think his career with APA allowed him to that. As a family man, Joe was many things to many people. A husband, a father, a grandfather, a step father, a great grandfather and a brother. He was always a good provider and a very hard worker throughout his life. He was also a good friend. Many knew him as “Crazy Joe”, even though he was a mostly quiet and subdued person. He loved boats, being in the sun, the Eagles and watching movies. He was a strong supporter of the police and the military. Our family would like to send a special thank you to everyone for their support and caring thoughts during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards the front line Physicians and Nurses at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for the care they provided to Joe and all of the other patients impacted by Covid-19. Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SemperFiFund.org. NOTE: Anyone invited to attend the private service is asked to wear a mask, properly; practice social distancing; and refrain from physical contact. Read Less
