Frederick William Lester, 69, of Newnan, GA joined peacefully with our Lord Jesus on September 11, 2020, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital due to COVID-19 which targeted his lungs with pneumonia. Born February 24, 1951, of James William (J.W.) and Susie Wood Lester in Greensboro, NC. He is survived by his beloved and cherished wife, Marilynn Homa Lester whom he united in holy matrimony November 03, 2018. To his end, they were granted the ultimate blessing to jointly unite at his bedside during his final hours with words and conscious endearment shared mutually. He is lovingly survived by his son, Bryan Lester, of Austin TX, his daughter Karyn Hidalgo, (Brad), and grandchildren. Kaitlin and Will Hidalgo of Orlando, FL. Additionally, he is survived by two loving siblings, a brother, James C. Lester (Faye), of Midlothian, VA, and a sister, Margaret Lester Mock (Willis) of Fredericksburg, Va, several nieces and nephews, and his cherished and adored fur babies, Hallie, Jay, Peaches, and Taupie. Not to be forgotten, he will be sadly missed by close friends from St. Paul’s Episcopalian Church, the First United Methodist Church, both of Newnan, and his loving and caring friends from Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his son, Kristopher William Lester, his former wife, Ilana Lester, and brother, Douglas Lester. Fred graduated from Smith High School, Greensboro, NC, and attended Guilford Technical Community Technical College, Greensboro, NC, followed by a 50-year career as a Project Manager in Utility Contracting. This entitled to him travel many states in the U.S. His fondly shared memories included his many vacations both nationally and internationally to capture and appreciate God’s beauty. He attended and viewed limitless NASCAR races, and was an avid fisherman with multiple accessories to enjoy his love for catching and returning the fish to their natural habitat. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be performed at an unannounced date for all family and friends at the McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan,GA. It will be co-officiated by Hazel Glover, his Priest at St. Paul’s’ Episcopalian Church, and Marilynn’s Pastor at the First United Methodist Church, Senior Pastor, Charles Robinson. A reception will follow at our home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coweta County Humane Society (www.nchsrescue.org) Americares Working to help fight covid-19 & other disasters (www.americares.org) or to the charity of your choice in his name. “Now this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” – John 17.3.
