Bob had been a welder at Consol #2 Coal Mine. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Bob was a member of the UMWA. Over the years, Bob had made many friends and they all attest to what a good man he was. He was born May 23, 1934 at Mulkeytown, IL, the son of Kenneth and Della May (McMillian) Cook. He is survived by one son – Robert Lee Cook and wife Janie of Du Quoin, one daughter – Carol Ann Tennison and husband Rick of Texas, loving companion – Catherine Feltmeyer of Du Quoin, two sisters – Della Wolfe of Du Quoin and Joann Little and husband Chuck of Mulkeytown, four grandchildren – Robbie Cook and wife Ashley of Du Quoin, Kenny Cook and wife Jenny of Paducah, KY, Kristin Tennison and Austin Tennison, both of Texas and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother – Kenneth Cook, one niece – Crystal Wolfe, and one brother-in-law – Joe Wolfe. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Mulkeytown Cemetery at Mulkeytown with Rev. Dan McKinnies officiating. Please use social distancing guidelines. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask. Burial will be in the Mulkeytown Cemetery at Mulkeytown. Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
