Obituary Suzanne Guard (Nee Decker), 77, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020. She was born September 21, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Muriel (Moran) Decker of Westwood, Ohio. She graduated from Mother of Mercy High School and the Vidal Sassoon School of Hair Design. She is survived by her husband, William “Stan” Guard of Lawrenceburg and her two sons, Jason and Teresa Guard of Burlington, KY, Nathan Guard and Sarah Karle of West Chester, OH; Grandchildren Zachary, Adam, Abbie, Anna, Brady, Cooper and Haley Guard and Step-grandchildren Seth, Shane, Sadie Karle. Suzanne and Stan just celebrated their 56th anniversary on October 24th. She is also survived by sister, Cynthia Maxwell and nephews, Gary, Doug, Andrew Maxwell; sister, Jeannie and Todd Addler and two “red-head” nieces, Katie and Elizabeth Addler; Two brothers, John and Steve Decker preceded her in death. Family was her focus in life. Positive attitude and spirit were her avocations. Friendship was her goal. Playing cards, especially bridge and blackjack, was fun and social. She was famous for her 70’s / 80’s dance parties and prime roast beef sandwiches. Suzanne and Stan lived on the lake at Hidden Valley for 40 years. She was an exceptionally talented hair dresser especially cutting hair, first in Cincinnati and then in her own shop in Lawrenceburg. She also managed Sugar Ridge Golf Course and famous “Gimmie” Bar and Grill for several years. She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority. Her “out there” personality will be missed by many in Lawrenceburg, Greendale, Aurora, Bright, and Hidden Valley. Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Friday, November 6, 2020 at 2 pm, with Father Ben Syberg officiating. Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana. Contributions may be made to Tri Kappa.
