Obituary Richard Lee Higgins, 66, of New York City, passed away on Monday August 24, 2020 at his apartment in Manhattan. Funeral services are pending. Richard was bron on September 21, 1953 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He was the youngest son of Leroy and Helen Higgins. At the age of one, Richard and his family moved back to Roland. He was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church, a graduate of Roland-Story High School in the class of 1971, and attended Waldorf College. After a short career with J.C. Penney, he moved to the Big Apple, where he worked in the theater and real estate industries. He is survived by his two brothers, Keith (Marian) of North Carolina and Robert (Maripat) of Roland and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy & Helen (Oshiem) Higgins, both in 2001. Memorials may be made to Bergen Lutheran Church or the Roland Historical Society.   1. I’m sorry to read that Richard passed away. I met and worked with him in Houston, two other friends who will be sadden is Vyvyan Chaterjie in Houston, England, and lives in France. The 3 of us worked together at Dons Lepetois and Dr John Sharpley of Houston, Boston and lives in Singapore, and myself Tony Arnold Houston, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Newport, RI, and now Detroit. I’m still chatting with other. Also there was Ricky who lives in NewYork.
    Richard was loved, I loved him. I even was in New York but never caught up.

    I remember and have cards. His unit was 3k I think. I always told him he looked like Christopher Reeves.
