Terrence A. Simms, 65, of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 21, 1955 in Kinloch, Missouri, a son of the late Emanuel and Minnie (Baines) Simms. Terry was a 1973 graduate of Kinloch High School in Kinloch, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri, School of Engineering in Columbia, Missouri. Terry was a ticket agent for Ozark and Trans World Airlines. He was baptized at Southern Mission Church in Kinloch. Terry enjoyed barbecuing and making sweet potato pie, which he also enjoyed eating. He never met a stranger and easily made friends with those he met. Terry is survived by his siblings: Larry Simms of University City, Emanuel Simms, Jr. (Darlene) of St. Charles County, Elizabeth Simms of Jefferson City and Kathryn Simms of Castle Point; sister-in-law: Mamie Simms of St. Louis; longtime friend: Roger Dydell; special friends: Karen Baker, James Lee Kimbrough, Rhonda Bayscoplous and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Raymond Simms and Floyd Simms and sister-in-law: Lisa Simms. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Higher Dimension International Church, 2503 Industrial Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109 with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family of Terrence Simms.
