James Monroe Carter. Jr., 82 of Joe Mobley Rd., died Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his home.Mr. Carter was born on December 22, 1937 in Pennsylvania to the late James Carter, Sr. and Emily Rodgers.He retired from the US Marine Corp, having served 25 years, he served during Vietnam and was a sharpshooter.He enjoyed building trailers and working with his hands. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife Sophia Jane Beacham Carter.
Survivors include; son, Jimmy Carter of Greenville; brother, Bob Carter of VA; sister, Norma Carter Grove of VA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Macedonia Christian Church in the family life center at 11:00 AM with Rev. Greg Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rogerson Family Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal service.
