John’s Obituary Johnie Wayne “John” Fitzpatrick, age 73, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 16, 1946, the son of Everett and Vera Fitzpatrick in Malden, Missouri. John served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and 3 months during the Vietnam War. He later served 3 years in the National Guard and 25 years for the United States Postal Service in St. Charles, Missouri until his retirement in 1992. He moved to Warsaw in 1993 where became to be known as the “Candyman” because of his enjoyment in passing out candy bars to families. He enjoyed fishing and he was an accomplished pitch player. During one season of pitch he won 48 of the 52 competitions. He was a member of the American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw where he was instrumental in the John Fitzpatrick Fish Fry held at the American Legion which would raise funds for Warsaw Schools to purchase much needed supplies for the kids. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Arley Fitzpatrick, Carol Fitzpatrick and Paul Fitzpatrick. He is survived by one son, Jason Scott Fitzpatrick and his wife, Nicole, two grandchildren, Sgt. Sed Fitzpatrick and Jasmine Fitzpatrick, one sister, Connie Jaspering, one brother Jeff Fitzpatrick and many other beloved relatives and friends. Graveside services and interment will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 14, 2020.
