Catherine’s Obituary Catherine “Katie” Sue Leonard, 72 of Lexington, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at her home. Ms. Leonard will lie in state from 4pm until 6pm on Monday, August 3rd at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be limits to follow as no more than 50 people may be in the building at one time and must wear a mask and use social distancing of 6 feet. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, August 4th at Beulah United Church of Christ with Rev. Misty Polston York officiating. Social distancing of 6 feet is required. Katie was born on July 3, 1948 in Davidson County to Norman and Edna Curry Leonard. She retired from AT&T as a telephone wiring assistant and was a member of Beulah United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Virginia Sowers and Ruby Walser, sister-in-law Carolyn Leonard and brother-in-law Donald Walser. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Candace Leonard Kiser, of Lexington; brothers, Bernard Leonard (Ruby), Larry Leonard (Ann), Bryce Leonard (Libby) all of Lexington; sister, Patricia Perryman (Jimmy) of Lexington; and 2 grandchildren, Railyn Kiser, Jackson Kiser and a special nephew, Michael Walser (Dawn). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Beulah United Church of Christ Building Fund, 2828 Arnold Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27295.
