Walter’s Obituary Walter R. Burke Jr. “Bob” passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Langhorne at the age of 73. Born in Brownsville, PA, the son of the late Ruby (McAbee) and Walter R. Burke Sr., he was a former resident of Fairless Hills, prior to moving to Levittown 10 years ago. Bob was a graduate of Pennsbury High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1991, Bob retired from US Steel Fairless Works and went on to work as a bus driver for the Pennsbury School District for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening and was known for his beautiful tomato plants. Bob was a great, fun loving guy and was always the jokester. He was an avid Steelers fan. Bob loved fishing on the Saint Lawrence River in New York every summer. He truly loved his family. Beloved brother of Pamela Stevenson, Bob is the loving uncle of Jodi Hampton and Dana Gladwin (Brent); and the great uncle of Ruby and Neil. He is also survived by his aunt, Susie Nagg; his cousin, Ralph Pepper; countless friends; and his dog, Maggie. Services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th & Civic Center Blvd., Development Office, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or to the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 415, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462-1641.
