Jose’s Obituary Jose M. Sanchez, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with our Lord at the age of 88 on Saturday, June 27,2020, surrounded by his beloved wife Anita Silva Sanchez of 66 years, and their six children by his side. Jose was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 2, 1932. He met his wife Anita in San Antonio where their first child was born before moving his young family to Pico Rivera, California in 1955. He began a career as a butcher and supervisor for Swift Meats, and it was here his other 5 children were born. In 1977, the family moved back to San Antonio buying land and building a home while he worked in construction. He was a loving son, brother, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His love for farming and hunting was only surpassed by his love for his family. Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Anita S. Sanchez; his son, Joe Jr; daughter, Helen and spouse Tom McCoy, daughter, Frances and spouse Raul Hernandez; son, Jesse and spouse Martha Sanchez; daughter, Rosalinda and spouse, Rick Olivares; daughter, Sandra and spouse Pete Montelongo. 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as other family members. A visitation will be held at Castle Ride Mortuary on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Continued visitation will take place on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Atascosa, Texas.
