Obituary Louis J. Yesulis, 74, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Pine Brook Pointe Memory Center. Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 13, 1945, he was the son of John and Grace (nee Caruso) Yesulis. He served in the U.S. Army, although that wasn’t the only thing that made him a hero. He built and operated a small business, Crystal Window Cleaning and Maintenance Company for almost 50 years, but that isn’t all that made him a success. Being a hero. Being a success. These traits were predominately evident in his most cherished role as a husband and a father. He married the love of his life, Nadja Swet, on March 12, 1965. Together they created a happy life with their daughters first in Round Lake Beach, IL, later in Antioch, IL, and finally in Burlington, WI. His life was full of love and laughter, both of which he generously shared with family and friends. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, listening to Bob Dylan, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. Every year he would attend the Bears vs Green Bay Packers game at Soldier Field in Chicago with family. Later in life he relaxed by playing chess, watching western shows, and his favorite movie, Armageddon. Louis was known for his giving nature, infectious laugh and smile, and above all his quick-witted sense of humor. To know him was to love him. Louis is survived by his wife, Nadja; children, Amy (Eric) Szczerbiak and Sarah Grigsby; siblings, Marie Hamilton, Katherine (Michael) Karlov, Gloria (Tim) Murphy and Robert Yesulis; sibling in-laws, Helen Pucevich, Roseanne Zemit, Anna Mae (Joseph) Chuly, Stella Jean Douglas, Charles (Candice) Swet, Paul Swet, Timothy (Darlene) Swet; plus his many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother John Yesulis; brother in-laws Ray Hamilton and Andrew Swet; godchild Bradley Aaron Swet; plus many other beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Louis suffered from Alzheimer’s and spent his final months residing in the Pine Brook Pointe memory center. He always had a good time participating in their activities, including listening to music and stories, baking and dancing with all the caregivers. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the compassionate staff who cared for and about him, as well as Heartland Hospice who help provide him with comfort in his final days.
