Born December 23, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of William “Bill” Margarita and Charlene (Floyd) Claphan. Kristy worked various waitress and cashier jobs throughout her life. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 30’s and eventually became disabled. She was very tech savvy and enjoyed all things related to computers. She loved wiener dogs and shared a crafting passion with her mother. Her family includes her son Taylor Sloan Margarita of Wichita; her father and step-mother, Bill and Cheryl Margarita of Enfield, CT; her sisters, Shelly Tapia of Winfield; Jennifer Shields and family of Enfield, CT; Elisa Lowe and family of Enfield, CT; her nieces, Gaby Tapia and Adara Bogle; and her nephew Jimmy Lee Claphan. Kristy was preceded in death by her mother, infant sister LuCharla Floyd, her maternal grandmother Betty Leimkuhler and paternal grandparents, Josephine and Dimitri Margarita. Memorial services are pending at this time. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established in Kristy’s name to help defray expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
