Jesse Ray Shivers, age 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 16, 1958, and is survived by his parents, Jesse Shivers and Helen (Binkley) Shivers; twin sister, Fay Shivers and sister, Carol (Chuck) Bracey; nephew, Chris (Jamie) Bracey; niece, Cheryl (Danny) Puckett; 5 great nieces and 1 great-nephew. Ray was a graduate of Cheatham County Central High School, Class of 1976. He retired from Nissan. He loved and collected antiques and had numerous antique booths over the years. Ray was an avid lover of nature, adored his horses and dogs, loved to paint, and among his paintings, a sign of Bell Buckle. He volunteered with many organizations and was an active member of his church, Bell Buckle United Methodist Church. He was loved by all. A graveside service will be Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11:30 am in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee, with Pastor Nolen Brunson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Bracey and Cheryl Puckett. Smith Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Murfreesboro, TN, in charge of cremation and Cheatham County Funeral Home, Ashland City, TN, in charge of graveside service.
