He was born in Booneville, Mississippi, on May 18, 1940. On July 3, 1989, in Jefferson City, Harold married Sharon Kay Wolff, who survives at their home. In addition to his loving wife, Sharon, he is also survived by six children, Rick Brawley of South Carolina, Raymond Jones of Brumley, Rebecca Jones of Iberia, Robert Jones of Iberia, Randel Jones of Iberia, and Doris Jones Wilson of Kaiser; three step-children; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Murphy of Mississippi, one sister, Dianne Howard of Mississippi; cousin, Brenda Joyce of Mississippi; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Jones Barton, brother Thadus Murphy, and one sister, Deb Murphy. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Harold Jones Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
