Gerald’s Obituary Gerald W. “Jerry” Strelow, age 78, of Shawano, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020. He was born on May 22, 1942 to the late Clyde and Mildred (Lechterman) Strelow, Sr. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. Jerry was united in marriage to Betty Henke on May 27, 1978 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis. He lived in Shawano for most of his life and was employed as a Curwood in New London for 36 years and also worked at the Sawmill in Pella. Jerry loved fishing, camping, and tending to yard work. Gerald is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Penny (significant other Scott) Kuehn of Oshkosh, Gail (Michael) Hatfield of Iowa, and Steven (significant other Shelly) Schultz in Shawano; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his siblings, Clyde Strehlow of Shawano, Thomas “Tom” Strelow of Clintonville, and Donna Richter of Shawano; He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by: his parents; his siblings, Floyd (Joan) Strelow, Robert Strelow, and Donald “Pete” Strelow. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday June 4, 2020 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Fr. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Leopolis. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
