Emma L Marquardt February 9 1925 May 28 2020

February 9 1925 May 28 2020
Faith makes all things possible. It isn’t a feeling, it’s a choice to trust in God where love makes all things easy and hope makes all things work. Emma L. Marquardt (nee Garrity) believed the glory of life surmounts the fear of death. The faithful shall be set free of earthly bonds and their spirit shall soar as a dove singing praises eternally. During the very early morning hours of Thursday May 28, 2020 we no longer let life divide what death can join together. Emma passed away at the age of 95 and her soul ascended like incense. She enjoyed this world as a tourist. She enjoyed life, went sightseeing and did good deeds. “You can say whatever ya want. I’m done.” But, to the lovers, the dreamers and you… keep believing. Emma was born in Camden and spent her formative years there. She had been a longtime resident of the Holy City and lifetime congregant of The Episcopal Church Of The Ascension in Gloucester City. Mrs. Marquardt had been a member of the Altar Guild, the Episcopal Church Women, the Senior Citizens of Gloucester City and a former member of the Gloucester City Chapter of Deborah Hospital. She had been a part of AARP, the young at heart and ladies social club. Emma adored spending time with family and friends and loved her animals, especially dogs. In later years she just enjoyed hangin’ with the gang of Audubon Towers at Rexy’s. Mrs. Marquardt is the widow of her late husband Carl F. and is the mother of Robert, his wife Karen, the late Carol and her late husband Ron Taggart. She is the proud grandmother of Michele Cooper, Carolyn McClean, Laura Kress, Brian Marquardt and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, her congregation and the gang at the towers. The liturgy for the dead is an Easter liturgy. It finds all its meaning in the resurrection. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we too, shall be raised high. I am home in Heaven dear ones; oh, so happy and so bright. There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. Burn what is left of me and scatter my ashes to the winds. Burn my body but not my beliefs, Burn my voice but not my message. If you must bury something let it be my faults, my weaknesses. The witness of love’s reunion and the return to nature will be held privately under the care of Creran Celebration #crerancelebration #heartfelt To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Emma L.
