Dolores Theresa Kramer (nee Patchell) passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the age of 90. Born in Queens to parents Edward and Mary Patchell, Dolores spent her early years living in the Bronx. A diligent student, she won the Regents Math Medal, awarded by Mayor LaGuardia. She would go on to graduate as Valedictorian of her High School class. Dolores received a scholarship to City College, where she studied at the Business School. Upon graduation, she went on to work for NY Telephone. In 1951, Dolores married the love of her life, Philipp Kramer. They would move from NY to Keyport, NJ, eventually settling in Matawan to raise their family. Dolores would go on to work for 5 years at The Boy Scouts of America in North Brunswick and 25 years at IFF in Hazlet, retiring in 1989. After retirement, Dolores and Phil traveled extensively, one of their favorite trips being to Ireland. She was a charter member of St. Clement’s Church in Matawan and spent many years in the choir. Due to her husband’s many years of service to the Matawan Fire Department, Dolores was part of the Women’s Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband Philipp, her daughter Mary Louise, her parents, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marilyn and James Ryan, and her son-in-law Steven Domenick. Dolores is survived by her two sons Philipp Kramer (Lynn) and Edward Kramer (Debra), her daughter Elizabeth Kramer Domenick; her grandchildren Philipp Kramer (Marlena), William Kramer (Jen), Kristen Kramer Dunne (Sean), Jennifer Domenick, Stephanie Domenick, Bryan Domenick (Stephanie), Samantha Domenick; her great grandchildren, Philipp, Madison, Alexander, Zachary; and her nephews James Ryan (Diane) and Robert Ryan (Alicia). Dolores’s family will be gathering privately to honor and celebrate her life. She will be interred with her husband at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Keyport. A memorial service will be held in the future.
