Obituary “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 A Time to Be Born… On November 24, 1956, God created an earthly angel with a loving and caring heart, and a sweet and humble spirit. On this blessed day, a beautiful, fun and a ‘little’ mischievous baby girl was born to Curtis and Annie Mae Ham, whom they named “Cecelia Gail Ham”. A Time to Grow… Mrs. Cecelia Gail Ham Young, affectionately called “Cecelia, Gail, Mama, Sissy, Grammie”, was reared in the Savannah Grove Community, Effingham, South Carolina. She attended Savannah Grove Elementary School and graduated from South Side High School in 1974. Gail furthered her education at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina and A &T College in Greensboro, North Carolina. After college, she moved to Gastonia, North Carolina. She was formerly employed at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Homelite Industries and retired from UMAR of Gastonia, North Carolina where she developed lifelong friends. Gail truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures–chatting with friends and family, interior design and spending time with her grandkids. She connected with many in a deep and positive way. A Time to Worship… At an early age, she accepted Christ as her savior. She joined Savannah Grove Baptist Church, where she was a choir member and participated in Sunday school and other youth activities. While living in Gastonia, North Carolina, she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. A Time for Love… Cecelia Gail Ham was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Leroy Young on July 14, 1984. From this union, one beautiful daughter, Kristal and a handsome son, Antoine were born. Gail is “Grammie” to six beautiful grandchildren. A Time to Die… In the early morning hours on May 25, 2020, God, while walking through His garden picked a special rose, we know as Cecelia Gail Young.
