Obituary Chapman – Bertha M. (Burby) Archer, 72, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2020 at Cary Medical Center surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on Dec 3, 1947, the daughter of Fred A. and Cecilia B. (Lajoie) Burby. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a huge Elvis fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and 4 wheeling. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Alan “Ernie” Archer of Chapman, her daughter Sherry (Archer) Gardiner and her husband, David of Chapman, four grandchildren, Andrea, Meghan, James and Madison, four great grandchildren, Allison, Landen, Hayden and Parker, one brother, Gary Burby of Sheridan and one sister, Sarah (Burby) Hunt, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Wayne and Johnny, one sister, Ruth Ann and her youngest daughter, Tammy (Archer) Bagley. The family wishes to thank the entire staff in the Acute Care Unit at Cary for the exceptional care and level of compassion that was given to Bertha and the entire family during this difficult time.
