Walter “Wally” “Gator”‘s Obituary Walter “Wally” “Gator” Leo Krumm Jr.,69, November 6, 1950 – April 15, 2020, passed away bravely from a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Walter L. Sr. and Beatrice (Richmond) Krumm. He was born in Lansing and was most recently a resident of Bitely. Gator was a graduate of Williamston High School, Class of 1970. He worked for General Motors for 32 years retiring in 2001. Gator really enjoyed Sand Drag Racing, racing in the Mt. Baldy Hill Climb, playing on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and trail riding all over the state of Michigan in his many dune buggies. He also loved hunting, fishing, or just tinkering in the garage. Walter was a veteran of the United States Navy, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War; which he was very proud of his service. He was an active member of the AMVETS Post 1988 in Baldwin. Gator loved riding his VW trike which he proudly built and enjoyed riding with his AMVET Riders and friends. He was most happy in his garage spending time with his loved ones. Walter is survived by his loving wife Karen of 38 years; children, Lori (Steven) Glynn, Christina (Kirk) Reynolds, Jennifer (Todd) Smart, Peter (Jena) Krumm; grandchildren, Sophie (Andrew), Emma, Allyson, Courtland, Andrew, and Mia; siblings, Thomas, Rebecca, and Dennis (Sue) Krumm; his Aunt Doris Maxwell and numerous family members and many friends that he loved as family. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, his stillborn brother, and by best friends Dennis McDaniel and Douglas Harrison. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date at the AMVETS Post 1988 Baldwin. The family would like to thank the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City and Spectrum Hospital in Big Rapids for all the wonderful care and support given. They would also like to thank the AMVET Riders for the Sendoff Ride.
