Walter Louis Pannell left this world on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at the Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, PA. At the time of his transition, he had sojourned here on earth for 80 years, 11 months, and 4 days. His life began on May 1, 1939, in Brookneal, VA, where he was the tenth child to the late Pollard and Flossie Hanney Pannell. Walter was married to his best friend and the love of his life Jocondia M. Pannell since April 15, 1965. He was a former member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. Walter attended and graduated school in Brookneal, VA. He was employed with Southern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and later retired from CSX Transportation. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing poker, and watching his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, and one son, Brenan J. Porter Pannell Walter leaves to cherish him memories: his wife, Jocondia M. Pannell, one daughter, Tonya L. Pettigrew Pannell, Cleveland, OH; one son, Michael V. Porter Pannell, Thorndale, PA; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, Mother-In-Law, Wilma J. Bumpus, Sisters-In-Laws, Vera D. Porter and Robbin D. Bumpus, all of Savannah, TN, and Irish Faye Moore, Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Walter L.
