Tribute Celia Opal McQueary, the daughter of the late Aaron and Mattie (Caldwell) Cheek, was born August 2, 1925 in Adair County and departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Campbellsville at her home. She was 94 years of age. She was a former grocery store owner and operator in Campbellsville and was a faithful member of the Campbellsville First Church of God. She united in marriage to Woodruff McQueary in 1944, who preceded her in death on August 6, 1993. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings: Hazel Woody, Ethyl Barnett, Bonnie Grant, Vena McQueary, Leonard Cheek and Ray Cheek. Survivors include a daughter and son: Phyllis Murphy and husband Joe and Terry McQueary and wife Beverley, all of Campbellsville; a sister: Pauline Patten of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Shane Murphy, Adam McQueary and wife Maci and Amanda McQueary all of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. All services will be private. Memorials are suggested to the First Church of God in Campbellsville. Bro.
