Melba’s Obituary Melba Puckett, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 1:10 PM at Vancrest of Ada. She was born on February 21, 1931 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Lonzo and Josie (Prater) Ousley. On September 11, 1948 Melba married Carl Puckett and he survives in Ada. Melba was a homemaker. She attended the Lonesome Valley United Baptist Church. Also surviving are two daughters: Barbara (Ronald) Murray of St. Marys and Brenda (Robert) Zimmerman of Ada; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; three brothers: Hager Ousley of Morehead, KY, Adice “Bud” (Helen) Ousley of South Dakota and Elmer Ousley of Lima; and two sisters: Lois (Bert) Spiecher of Kenton and Judy (Chuck) Wireman of Alger. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Puckett; and three sisters: Vernie Robinson, Eunice Price and Stella Rose. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, private family services are being held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Elder Gregus Smith officiating.
