Luis’ Obituary Luis C. Chacon, Jr. passed away on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at his home in Atascosa, Texas. Born to Luis Chacon Sr. and Tomasa Campos Chacon on August 20, 1943, in Wichita County, Texas, Sheppard Air Force Base. He was the oldest of seven children. He attended Lanier High School. Married to Yolanda Estevis Chacon on February 20,1963. They had 4 children. He was a cook at Side Walk Cafe for 20 years until he became the owner. After becoming a business owner, he opened Yolanda’s Mexican Restaurant. After being a business owner, he decided to go back and do what he loved to do which was being a cook. He worked as a cook at multiple bases until he retired. (Fort Sam, Camp Bullis, and Lackland to name a few.) Mr. and Mrs. Chacon were members of Resurrection of the Lord Church and Knights of Columbus. Also, were Foster parents throughout the years. In Mr. Chacon’s spare time he would sit with his oldest son, and his brothers on the front porch and waive as cars passed by. Preceded him in death are his parents; brother, Epifanio Chacon, Richard Chacon; sister, Irma Dimas; wife, Yolanda Chacon. Survived by his children, Eleanor Esparza (Mario), Brenda Chacon (Monica), Luis Chacon III (Roxanna), Jose Chacon; brothers, Raymond Chacon (Gloria), Victor Chacon (Yolanda), Hector Chacon; 9 grandchildren, Luis IV Chacon, Joshua Chacon, Joseph Chacon, Lance Chacon, Jodi Chacon, Celestina Chacon, Destiny Chacon, Gabriel Esparza, Daniel Esparza; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews. Luis enjoyed family and friends coming over and spending time together. The family would like to thank the many visitors, phone calls, and prayers he received while in hospice care. We would also like to thank Trinity Hospice Program. Brother, Victor Chacon’s words – My oldest brother was a role model before it became a common term. He embodied the qualities an assuming personality loved by all that ever met him. We all are better people for having known him, that will live long after he left us. A visitation will be held at Castle Ridge Mortuary on Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place at San Fernando Cemetery #2 on Monday, April 27, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Due to the Declaration on March 16, 2020 by State, County and City officials, funeral services are limited to 10 guests in the chapel.
