Leon K. Thornburg January 25, 1936 – April 26, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Leon K. Thornburg, 84, died April 26, 2020 in Jasper, Texas. Leon was a native of Ashboro, North Carolina and a former resident of Houston and Freeport Texas. After retirement he moved to Jasper. Leon was a faithful member of Faithway Missionary Baptist Church in Erin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved to play music and sing. Leon is survived by his three sons, Charles Broadway of Jasper, Gary ton of Houston and Royce Broadway of Texas; two brothers, Reid Thornburg & wife Meredith of Ashboro, North Carolina and Roger Thornburg & wife Christine of New Market, Tennessee; one sister, Sandra Routh & husband Randy of Randleman, North Carolina. Leon is also survived by a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Numa and Fannie Thornburg; wife of over 41 years, Robbie Thornburg; and wife, Joy ton Thornburg. Memorials made be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
